My name is Levo Omuse, and I’m a Form Four student with a story of resilience and renewed hope.
I lost my mother when I was very young, and life became even more challenging afterward. My father remarried a kind woman who cared for me like her own—until fate dealt us another blow. After my father passed away, my older brother’s behavior turned violent, and my stepmother could no longer cope. In one heart-wrenching moment, I became a total orphan when my brother, consumed by drug addiction, abandoned us and left me without the love and care I desperately needed.
For a while, the community tried to support me. The village decided to help by ensuring I could attend school, but that support eventually faded away. Then, the village chairman took me in, offering me work in exchange for his help with my school fees. He enrolled me in a sponsored school where I played football to earn my keep, yet the education there failed to meet my needs.
Determined not to let my circumstances dictate my future, I fought hard to return to Chamasiri High School, where I had previously studied. Although I had little money, I persevered, and after a long struggle, they accepted me back.
Everything changed when I met Madam Sharon, my class teacher, who listened with compassion as I recounted my struggles. Moved by my story, she reached out to Charlie Young, and they stepped in to rescue me. Thanks to Charlie Young, I received a new school uniform, shoes, and essential personal items. Most importantly, they paid my entire year’s school fees and cleared my arrears.
Today, I stand as a happy student with renewed joy and hope for the future. The kindness and support from Charlie Young have transformed my life, reminding me that even in the darkest moments, there is a light that can guide you forward.
