Charlie Young’s Mission to Keep Girls in School

For many young girls in Kenya, menstruation is not just a biological process—it’s a barrier to education. A lack of access to sanitary towels forces thousands of girls to miss school each month, affecting their academic performance and future opportunities. At Charlie Young, we believe that no girl should have to choose between education and menstrual hygiene. That’s why we launched the Sanitary Towels Distribution Project, a life-changing initiative ensuring that girls have access to safe and reliable menstrual products.

Making a Difference: Over 5,000 Sanitary Towels Distributed

Since its inception, the project has successfully distributed more than 5,000 sanitary towels to over 3,000 secondary school girls across Kenya. Through this initiative, we are not just providing hygiene products—we are restoring dignity, building confidence, and keeping girls in school.

We have partnered with schools, teachers, and community leaders to identify students in need, ensuring that every sanitary towel reaches a girl who would otherwise struggle. The impact has been profound: fewer school absences, improved academic performance, and a stronger sense of self-worth among young girls.

Breaking the Silence: Menstrual Health Education

Beyond providing sanitary towels, our program also includes menstrual health education workshops. These sessions help debunk myths, educate girls about menstrual hygiene, and foster open discussions on reproductive health. By normalizing conversations around menstruation, we are empowering girls to take control of their well-being with confidence.

A Ripple Effect of Change

The effects of this initiative extend beyond the classroom. Many of the girls who receive support become advocates for menstrual health in their communities, sharing knowledge with their peers and younger girls. Schools have also reported a more inclusive and supportive environment where students no longer feel ashamed or isolated because of their periods.

How You Can Support This Cause

While we celebrate our achievements, the journey is far from over. Thousands of girls in Kenya still lack access to menstrual hygiene products. You can be part of this change:

Donate – Your contribution helps us reach more schools and distribute more sanitary towels.
Partner with Us – Schools, businesses, and individuals can collaborate with us to expand the program.
Spread Awareness – Join the conversation and help break the stigma around menstruation.

At Charlie Young, we believe that empowering young girls is an investment in a brighter future. When girls stay in school, they unlock their potential, uplift their families, and drive positive change in society.

Together, let’s ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period.
